Manager, Automation and Controls Engineering (PLC/Robotics)

Location: Onsite at the Moen Distribution Center in Kinston, North Carolina, United States

Base salary: $107,000–$165,000 USD annually, plus participation in an annual bonus or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Oversee facility management, maintenance operations, equipment performance, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement projects.
• Lead and develop maintenance staff responsible for equipment installation, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Lead facility engineering projects and contribute to automation strategies, capital projects, and future operational capabilities.
• Serve as the automation subject matter expert on project teams, supporting system design, startup, code configuration, and validation.
• Establish engineering processes, systems, policies, procedures, performance standards, and KPIs in partnership with operations.
• Manage safety compliance, labor and overhead budgets, resource optimization, and cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or related operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
• Experience leading engineering and maintenance teams in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Strong experience with controls integration, automation and controls development, PLC and HMI programming, conveyors, robotics, and automated systems.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, FactoryTalk, Logix 5000, RSLinx, Rockwell Automation, Studio 5000 Logix, or equivalent systems, including AB PowerFlex drives.
• Experience troubleshooting Intelligrated software and applying continuous improvement, Six Sigma, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, distribution improvement, and project management methods.
