What you will do

• Underwrite and process new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments for the Cargo line.
• Support profitability, growth, retention, and consistency across Cargo underwriting initiatives.
• Ensure risks are written within company policies, underwriting authority, business plans, audit requirements, and Lloyd's standards.
• Research target business, competitors, industry conditions, economic factors, market factors, and world affairs.
• Enter quotes, risks, and endorsements accurately to support management, statistical, and regulatory reporting.
• Build relationships with agents, brokers, and customers while promoting underwriting strategies and providing guidance to colleagues.

Requirements

• Previous Cargo insurance experience in underwriting, operations, or broking.
• Experience in the Lloyd's market and an understanding of its internal and external drivers.
• Underwriting experience with the ability to make sound quoting and pricing decisions.
• Intermediate capability in judgment, decision-making, communication, teamwork, relationship management, analytical thinking, financial acumen, and product knowledge.
• Secondary-level education or equivalent; a university degree is also expected for the ideal candidate.
• Expected to be studying toward the ACII qualification.
