Principal Engineer I - Technology Product Management

Location: Based onsite at the hirify.global Motors Battery Plant in Liberty, North Carolina; residence within a commutable distance is required.

What you will do

• Act as the primary liaison between logistics stakeholders and technology teams.
• Translate business priorities and operational needs into product strategy, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, roadmaps, and backlogs.
• Lead logistics application delivery through design, testing, integration, user acceptance testing, deployment, training, and production readiness.
• Optimize logistics processes and systems through automation, standardization, KPI analysis, continuous improvement, and emerging technologies.
• Coordinate application support, issue resolution, vendors, and cross-functional teams while communicating product status, risks, and priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, or enterprise technology solutions.
• Strong understanding of logistics and material-flow processes, requirements gathering, and technical solution definition.
• Experience working with software development teams across the application lifecycle and with Agile/Scrum practices, product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Understanding of application architecture, system integrations, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing, warehouse management, material handling, sequencing, or production logistics.
• Knowledge of MES, ERP, WMS, shop-floor applications, cloud platforms, or modern application architectures.
• Experience with SQL, APIs, reporting and analytics tools, low-code platforms, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
• Product Owner, Scrum, Agile, or project management certification.
• Experience managing software vendors and leading application implementations from concept through production.
