Industrial Designer (Robotics)

Location: Onsite at the Santa Clara, California headquarters, United States. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to the office from more than 50 miles away.

Salary: $190,000–$210,000 base salary annually, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Translate user needs, design insights, and technical requirements into intuitive industrial design solutions for robotics systems.
• Lead the design process from early concept exploration through detailed design, prototyping, and manufacturing.
• Create and refine concepts through sketching, 3D modeling, visualization, rendering, and physical prototyping.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical constraints and design trade-offs.
• Manage design workstreams, communicate design decisions, and contribute to a cohesive product experience and visual identity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional industrial design experience and a strong portfolio of realized physical products.
• Experience with design for manufacturing, product engineering, assembly, and rapid prototyping.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, Alias, or CATIA, and visualization tools such as KeyShot or Cinema 4D.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Must have and maintain US work authorization; willingness to travel is required.

Nice to have

• Experience incorporating physical-product UX into industrial design for complex hardware systems.
• Experience designing products that combine mechanical, electrical, and other engineering constraints, especially in robotics or related industries.
