Concept Designer 2 (Power Tools)

What you will do

• Ideate and create functional prototypes demonstrating future product solutions.
• Develop product demonstrations showcasing performance and features.
• Collaborate with industrial designers, mechanical and electrical engineers, analytical specialists, project managers, and other cross-functional partners.
• Manage budgets, schedules, quality expectations, and key project milestones.
• Communicate technical details and concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in brainstorming, feasibility testing, and iterative concept refinement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in product design, concept development, and functional prototyping.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling.
• Experience developing functional prototypes integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototype fabrication methods using varied materials and processes.
• Proficiency with embedded electronics and controls, including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, motors, and related hardware integration.
• Experience using test and measurement equipment for vibration, sound, environmental, and durability testing.
• Knowledge and application of user-centered design methods, including customer research, observational studies, usability testing, and iterative concept refinement.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, microcontrollers, and batteries.
• Software experience with Office, NX, SolidWorks, Altium, Photoshop, and Microsoft Project.
