Software Engineer - Intern (FPGA)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Estimated salary range: $95,000–$100,000 CAD per year, plus performance-based incentive opportunities.

Technology company developing FPGA-based products, software tools, and solutions for advanced computing applications.

What you will do

• Research, design, develop, and optimize software tools that enable the use of field-programmable gate arrays.
• Develop compilers, flows, assemblers, models, tools, runtimes, and firmware coupled to FPGA silicon, intellectual property, and boards.
• Build software abstractions and frameworks for FPGA acceleration in deep learning, DSP algorithms, and data analytics.
• Apply knowledge of FPGA hardware, logic design, board design, semiconductor devices, and chip layout.
• Respond to customer, client, and stakeholder requests while working with cross-functional and multi-site teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar discipline.
• At least 3 months of experience or coursework in one or more of C/C++, Python, digital logic, FPGAs, Verilog, or similar areas.
• Experience may come from schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, military training, or professional work.
• Strong technical, communication, problem-solving, prioritization, and independent-working skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-site team and deliver accurate, high-quality engineering results.
