Embedded Simulation Developer - SIL and Virtualization (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Markham, Ontario, with office attendance at the Markham Elevation Centre at least three times per week

Salary: CAD 90,900–136,400 per year

What you will do

• Lead the development and integration of cosimulation components for end-user testing.
• Create, maintain, and test virtual controllers, including HWIO, RTOS, and communication models.
• Develop and parameterize subsystem models for sensors, actuators, and ECU behavior.
• Integrate plant and ECU models into dynamic virtual simulation environments.
• Work with development and system engineers to define simulation assets, implement features, and resolve issues.
• Document releases, support released simulations and user testing, provide technical guidance, and support cloud deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Embedded C and Python.
• Experience with embedded controls software and build tools including GCC, GDB, Eclipse, Jenkins, and ETAS INCA.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink for plant model development and integration, plus basic familiarity with tools such as GT-Power, AMESIM, or CarSim.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, SPI, automotive Ethernet, FMU/FMI, SSP, and AUTOSAR layered software architecture.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of embedded software development experience.
• Experience in virtualization or software integration.
• Experience developing vehicle body controls, propulsion thermal, battery management, chassis, or brake control software.
