Computer Vision & AI Specialist

Location: US, Arlington, VA. Full-time role with 30% travel.

Salary: $145,000–$181,050 per year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop high-performance, real-time perception algorithms for object detection, segmentation, and pose estimation using camera, lidar, radar, and other sensor data.
• Design, train, optimize, deploy, and maintain AI/ML models for robust perception in challenging environments.
• Improve ML pipelines and tooling for experimentation, CI/CD, validation, verification, and field monitoring.
• Integrate perception systems with robotic platforms for autonomous manipulation, navigation, and human-robot interaction.
• Define perception software architecture, translate product requirements into technical criteria, and shape the technical roadmap with robotics, hardware, controls, and product teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while collaborating with engineering, construction, business development, supply chain, finance, and strategy teams.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in computer vision, machine learning, and/or robotics.
• Strong foundation in computer vision, image processing, and machine learning algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and ROS2, plus experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with real-time systems, embedded platforms, robotics platforms, and sensor systems.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication skills, collaborative working style, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision in an ambiguous technical environment.

Nice to have

• Technical understanding of solar engineering, automation, robotics, computer vision, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
