Contract - Translator (Japanese)

Location: Hybrid in Redmond, Washington, United States; regular onsite work is required. The position is not open to fully remote status.

Pay range: $30–$45 USD

What you will do

• Translate confidential emails and written documentation between Japanese and English.
• Select equivalent target-language expressions that accurately convey the intended meaning.
• Manage communication tools and databases and help improve their usability and efficiency.
• Follow corporate security policies and procedures when handling confidential information.
• Provide customer service to internal and external contacts.

Requirements

• Two to four years of related experience, including two years of translation experience.
• JLPT N2-level verbal and written Japanese proficiency is required.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional training in Japanese translation or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of Japanese business culture and etiquette.
• Strong verbal and written communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, multitasking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
