Senior Backend Software Engineer — Python & Java (Fintech)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with in-person collaboration as needed

hirify.global develops technology platforms for wealth managers, private banks, and financial institutions, including a cloud-native securities-based lending platform.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for the Securities-Based Lending platform using Python, FastAPI, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Design and evolve RESTful APIs, microservices, and API-first architectures.
• Build secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native services on AWS using DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, code reviews, and engineering-standard improvements.
• Design automated unit, integration, and API testing and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with Product, QA, UX, and Engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience, including strong experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise applications.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other enterprise relational databases and Git.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS, including ECS, Lambda, EC2, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated unit, integration, and API tests within CI/CD environments and working in Agile Scrum teams.
• Excellent written and verbal English and availability to work in the hybrid Dublin-based role.

Nice to have

• Experience with Flask, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Nomad, Helm, Clojure, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, OpenAPI, OAuth2/JWT, event-driven architecture, or distributed systems.
• Frontend experience with React or Angular, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience in financial services, securities-based lending, or banking platforms.
