Linux Systems Engineer (Domains Retail Operations)

What you will do

• Operate and maintain web applications supporting the Domains, DNS, and SSL products.
• Configure and enhance applications in controlled production environments.
• Implement and maintain automated deployment and application-monitoring scripts.
• Set up tools that improve daily operational activities and platform efficiency.
• Respond to application failures in real time as part of the on-call rotation.
• Report bugs and feature requests to help evolve the products.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience administering Linux servers in production, preferably Debian.
• Availability for an on-call rotation is required.
• Strong command-line, shell scripting, and troubleshooting skills with Bash and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache, Nginx, or Tomcat.
• Experience with messaging, data stores, search, logging, monitoring, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Good networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and high-availability setups; good written and spoken English.
