What you will do

• Build, lead, and develop a pan-European commercial real estate underwriting and portfolio management team.
• Define CRE lending standards, underwriting playbooks, credit templates, and governance frameworks with risk executives and credit committees.
• Lead underwriting for large-ticket, multi-jurisdictional senior investment and construction loans, typically ranging from €20 million to €150 million+ or £20 million to £100 million+.
• Oversee financial modeling, stress testing, credit committee submissions, LMA documentation, and complex UK and European security structures.
• Direct construction monitoring, progress draws, cost-to-complete reviews, site inspections, and disbursement controls.
• Supervise portfolio reviews, covenant tracking, early-warning processes, watchlist assets, waivers, amendments, and restructurings.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of institutional commercial real estate lending and underwriting experience in an international investment bank, private bank, commercial bank, or institutional debt fund.
• Deep experience structuring, underwriting, and administering development and construction debt facilities.
• Familiarity with lending and security enforcement frameworks across the UK and core European markets.
• Strong knowledge of LMA documentation, facility agreements, security agreements, intercreditor deeds, and third-party reliance letters.
• Proven experience recruiting, managing, coaching, and motivating underwriting and portfolio management teams.
• Fluent English is required; a relevant degree in finance, real estate finance, economics, or law, or credentials such as CFA, CAIA, or MRICS.

• Professional proficiency in additional European languages, such as German or French.
• Experience working with UHNW sponsors, family offices, external legal counsel, appraisers, and independent monitoring surveyors.
