Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

What you will do

• Identify improvements to platform infrastructure with the Head of Platform and Head of SRE, then implement plans to address them.
• Improve the maturity, high availability, testing, and disaster recovery readiness of platform components.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and establish reliable deployment patterns.
• Assist with incident response, resolution, post-mortems, and retrospectives.
• Share knowledge through technical talks, team learning, and detailed playbooks, runbooks, and system documentation.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in DevOps engineering and operating large-scale platforms.
• Extensive experience with distributed cloud systems, especially Amazon Web Services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of relational databases and cloud services such as AWS Aurora, messaging systems, and distributed asynchronous workloads.
• Experience with Nginx or similar technologies and observability tools such as Datadog or Prometheus.
• Good written and spoken English required, along with a collaborative, proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise solutions running at scale.
• Familiarity with Kanban, agile development, Docker, and containerisation.
• Knowledge of software practices including refactoring, clean code, domain-driven design, and test-driven development.
