Patent Attorney (Mechanics) F/M (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications for mechanical systems and processes.
• Conduct inventor cross-examinations, assess patentability, and provide strategic legal and technical advice.
• Manage a broad patent portfolio, including geographical protection and invention prioritization.
• Prepare post-grant revocation actions and support IP litigation, pre-dispute matters, and infringement-risk management.
• Support the negotiation and drafting of IP-focused agreements and specialized contractual clauses.
• Advise Engineering, Procurement, and Programs functions while providing IP education and coordinating with external counsel.

Requirements

• Minimum CEIPI qualification; full European Patent Attorney qualification is strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in an intellectual property department in industry or a law firm.
• Negotiation-level fluency in English is required.
• Ability to practice autonomously under EQE regulations and make sound technical portfolio decisions.
• Experience managing outside counsel, leading IP training, and handling IP matters or projects.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, anticipate problems, and escalate critical risks.

• Experience in an industrial environment or the aerospace industry.
