Corporate Legal Counsel, France (Fintech)

What you will do

• Support corporate development and fundraising rounds through due diligence, structuring, and execution.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including referral, confidentiality, partnership, and marketing agreements.
• Advise on marketing, advertising, promotions, data protection, and cybersecurity matters.
• Monitor fintech legal and regulatory developments and support compliant product and market expansion.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks across fintech products and services.
• Work with product, compliance, risk, partnerships, marketing, and corporate development teams while managing external counsel.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in financial services or corporate law, preferably in a fast-growing technology company or top-tier law firm.
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a reputable university.
• Qualified lawyer in good standing; admission to the French Bar, preferably Paris, is advantageous.
• Strong interest in financial services regulation and fintech, with an understanding of the EMEA legal and business environment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English and French and experience collaborating across functions and managing external counsel.

Nice to have

• Experience with fundraising, M&A, or international expansion in a regulated financial services or fintech environment.
• Knowledge of data protection, cybersecurity, and technology risk management.
• Additional European language skills.
