Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Paris, France; hybrid model with 3 days per week in the office. Up to 15 days of remote work from abroad per year.

Salary: €72,000–€115,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and lead high-volume backend services and event-driven architectures.
• Build and maintain core data models and capabilities for client, studio, location, franchise, authentication, and permissions domains.
• Develop the AI semantic layer that powers AI-native features across the platform.
• Manage the architecture for subscriptions, webshops, retail, VOD, and pass offerings.
• Write maintainable code and improve testing, code reviews, and continuous integration and delivery.
• Monitor and improve service performance and reliability with Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Sentry, and related observability practices.

Requirements

• Substantial experience with Python; Django experience is valuable.
• Experience designing systems from data models through networking and working at scale for tens of millions of users.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Experience with scalable backend architecture, domain-driven development, and event-driven systems.
• Ability to take ownership of technical and product decisions and provide technical leadership across teams.
• Experience or familiarity with PostgreSQL, AWS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Django REST Framework, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, and Sentry.
