Quality Manager - Manufacturing Operations (AI Hardware)

Location: Bristol, United Kingdom; based in the UK. International travel to Asia and the US is required for supplier audits and customer quality reviews.

What you will do

• Define and deliver the company quality strategy, policy, objectives, and performance reporting.
• Build and lead a quality function covering suppliers, products, reliability, software, systems, and customers.
• Establish scalable document control, change control, CAPA, audit, training, and records processes.
• Embed quality gates into new product introduction and the full product lifecycle.
• Own quality across foundries, assembly and packaging providers, test houses, PCB/PCBA suppliers, and system-level contract manufacturers.
• Lead customer complaints, RMAs, audits, escalations, root cause analysis, and 8D responses.

Requirements

• Significant quality leadership experience in semiconductors or electronics hardware.
• Direct experience managing outsourced manufacturing, including foundries, OSATs, test houses, or contract manufacturers.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 9001 and hands-on experience building or operating a certified QMS.
• Knowledge of semiconductor qualification, JEDEC reliability, failure analysis, data-centre RAS, and HPC system qualification.
• Expertise in 8D, FMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA, and root cause analysis, with experience handling demanding customer escalations.
• Degree in electrical or electronic engineering, materials science, physics, or a related discipline; willingness to travel internationally.

• Experience in a fabless company bringing an initial product to volume.
• Background in high-performance compute, data centres, networking, or AI hardware.
• Experience with software quality, release management, secure development, or software supply-chain practices.
• ISO 9001 lead auditor certification, Six Sigma Black Belt, or chartered professional status.
• Experience working with suppliers in Taiwan, South Korea, or the US.
