Director, Event Techology

Location: United States

Salary: $177,400–$305,050 USD per year, depending on pay zone and location. Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a high-performing event technology organization, including staffing plans, career paths, leadership capacity, and functional ownership.
• Own the multi-year event technology roadmap for Data + AI Summit, Data + AI World Tour, AI Days, executive programs, and field events.
• Keep registration, event management, mobile apps, meetings, content, check-in, badging, signage, streaming, onsite AV, production, network, and IT systems reliable and launch-ready.
• Govern event data security, privacy, legal, vendor-risk, data-protection, and music-rights requirements before platforms or content go live.
• Connect registration, attendance, and engagement data with Salesforce, Marketo, the Databricks platform, and reporting partners.
• Manage budgets, vendors, procurement, contracts, SaaS negotiations, operating standards, and responsible AI automation across event technology operations.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in event technology, corporate events, or marketing technology.
• 5+ years leading and developing full-time and contract teams.
• Experience leading technology for a flagship conference with 35,000+ in-person attendees and a multi-city global event series.
• Broad experience across enterprise event management, mobile apps, meetings, check-in and badging, signage, streaming, onsite AV, production, network, and IT.
• Experience partnering with Enterprise Security, Legal, and Privacy on platform reviews, third-party risk, data-protection agreements, PII handling, GDPR, and CCPA.
• Experience managing multi-million-dollar technology budgets, vendor portfolios, SaaS negotiations, procurement, legal review, security review, and music-rights compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience with event data layers, pipelines, warehousing or lakehouse concepts, tables, data structures, and marketing or sales integrations.
• Experience applying AI and agent-based workflows safely in event technology operations.
