Staff Product Designer (Agentic Coding)

Location: Mountain View, California; San Francisco, California; or Seattle, Washington

Salary: $128,400–$229,150 USD annual base pay across location-based pay zones. Compensation may also include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the desktop and mobile experience for live agent sessions from product strategy and interaction models through visual polish and shipped details.
• Design high-density desktop orchestration workflows and mobile monitoring, review, approval, and intervention experiences.
• Design directly in the codebase for well-scoped changes and build interactive prototypes to explore ambiguous problems.
• Define interaction patterns for real-time multi-agent sessions, watch, co-drive, fork, human-in-the-loop approvals, transparency, errors, recovery, and trust.
• Establish reusable UX principles, interaction frameworks, and a scalable cross-platform design system.
• Partner with engineering and product, using research instincts and real usage evidence to guide decisions.

Requirements

• Staff-level experience leading design direction and shipping complex, high-quality developer products.
• Strong end-to-end product design craft across interaction design, visual/UI polish, and design systems.
• Ability to make small design changes directly in a codebase and use AI tools and prototypes in the design and build workflow.
• Experience working independently through ambiguity and shaping product direction without a defined specification.
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering and product, including high-quality critique and clear decision-making.
• Ability to work from Mountain View, San Francisco, or Seattle.

Nice to have

• Experience designing coding tools, IDEs, agent frameworks, or developer platforms.
• Familiarity with multi-agent systems, LLM harnesses, or governance and observability tooling.
• Experience with developer tools, AI/ML products, enterprise software, or products for technical users.
