Senior Research Scientist (AI)

What you will do

• Fine-tune and evaluate proprietary language models for domain-specific clinical tasks.
• Design and build retrieval systems tailored to clinical trial data.
• Own production inference and serving, balancing model quality, latency, and cost.
• Apply reinforcement learning and related techniques to improve model behavior.
• Collaborate with Data and AI Engineering teams to define training and evaluation data and productionize research improvements.
• Track research literature and contribute to future publications and open-source releases.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in machine learning, NLP, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience fine-tuning large language models and building or using retrieval systems.
• Strong understanding of modern reinforcement learning techniques for language models.
• Experience with model inference and serving at scale.
• Strong Python and machine learning framework experience.
• Familiarity with MLOps, experiment tracking, versioning, reproducibility, and applying research papers to product problems.

Nice to have

• Background or strong interest in biology, life sciences, or clinical research.
• Publications at ML or NLP venues such as NeurIPS, ACL, or ICML.
• Experience with model quantization, efficient inference, knowledge graphs, or open-source ML tooling.
