Portfolio Operations & Underwriting Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Berlin, Germany; office-first role with in-person work expected

What you will do

• Clear same-day KYC and compliance checks for customers and installers.
• Underwrite B2C financing applications and B2B installer requests, preparing recommendations for credit committee review.
• Verify invoices, contracts, completion protocols, and photos, then run accurate installer payouts with four-eyes control.
• Resolve customer and installer issues end to end and maintain clear case ownership.
• Monitor daily alerts and keep back-office data, invoices, payments, and lender reporting synchronized.
• Identify recurring root causes, write SOPs, collaborate with Product on fixes, and automate manual work.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in credit, lending, or payments operations at a bank, fintech, or consumer lender.
• Ability to interpret credit reports and bank statements, make credit decisions, and explain declined applications.
• Accuracy in high-volume queues, including documenting decisions, reconciling totals, and escalating exceptions.
• Ability to communicate calmly with installers and customers in writing and by phone.
• Fluent English required.
• Confidence with Excel or Google Sheets and interest in using SQL or AI to reduce manual work.

Nice to have

• Working German at B2 level or above.
• Experience with German credit and payments infrastructure.
