MLOps Engineer (m/f/d)

Location: Cologne, Germany; remote work possible. Up to 20 days per year may be worked from anywhere within the EU.

What you will do

• Build and operate containerized ML/AI services with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve service reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Develop maintainable, well-tested Python services, automation, and internal tooling.
• Build CI/CD pipelines that support testing, deployment, and iterative model delivery.
• Implement data and model versioning, validation, monitoring, and observability across the ML lifecycle.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and secure software delivery practices.

Requirements

• Practical experience in MLOps, DevOps, platform engineering, or software engineering, including production ML/AI deployments.
• Strong Python software engineering skills with automated testing, version control, and code review.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Understanding of model packaging, versioning, validation, deployment, monitoring, software architecture, and secure development practices.
• Familiarity with MLflow or Kubeflow is welcome.
