Technical Director - AI Engineering

What you will do

• Lead hirify.global’s UK AI transformation and contribute to the UK Technology, Data and AI Leadership Team.
• Define and operationalise responsible AI policy across product and operations throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Lead large-scale transformation programmes for strategic enterprise clients and advise C-level stakeholders on technology, AI adoption, and operating model change.
• Design AI product strategies, human-in-the-loop and human-over-the-loop collaboration models, and AI delivery operations that create measurable client value.
• Own the centralised library of AI accelerators, including skills, plug-ins, hooks, and workflow templates, and establish standards for their governance and reuse.
• Mentor technical leaders, support recruitment and people development, contribute to bids and go-to-market strategies, and manage the UK relationship with Anthropic.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading large-scale transformation programmes for globally recognised brands and navigating complex organisations.
• Strong consulting skills with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders with credibility and humility.
• Technical fluency across platforms, architecture, cloud, modern software delivery, DevSecOps, and continuous integration and deployment.
• Experience using AI in enterprise software development and leading AI adoption and policy in a consultancy or agency environment.
• Experience building and leading communities of technologists, developing teams, and delivering successful outcomes.
• English proficiency is required for UK client leadership and international collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Anthropic Claude Code, agents, sub-agents, skills, plug-ins, hooks, and agent-team workflows.
• Experience with MCP and agentic architectures, model selection and fine-tuning, prompt and context management, and conversational or voice interfaces.
• Knowledge of EU AI Act 2024 compliance, DPIAs, PII exposure controls, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001.
• Experience with major cloud hyperscalers, infrastructure automation, secure-by-design practices, and AI-native product engineering.
