Senior Analytics Engineer (Finance Data)

What you will do

• Build and maintain trusted financial data products, scalable pipelines, data models, automated reconciliations, and reporting workflows.
• Partner with Finance, Platform Accounting, Data Engineering, Product, and Engineering to translate business needs into reliable data and automation solutions.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations that support performance analysis, issue investigation, and decision-making.
• Resolve finance data issues and reconciliation breaks, identify root causes, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Support the design and rollout of a finance data lake with clear definitions, ownership, monitoring, exception handling, and quality checks.
• Evaluate AI-assisted automation and other technologies, improving data timeliness and enabling near-real-time insights where useful.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data analytics and data management within financial services or another regulated industry, working directly with Finance teams.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, including production code development, debugging, and maintenance.
• Experience with Git, merge requests, code reviews, testing, and technical documentation.
• Hands-on experience with dbt, Spark, Airflow, or comparable tools for building and operating pipelines and models.
• Direct experience with accounting data, reconciliations, subledgers, cost basis, month-end close, discrepancy investigation, and output validation.
• Strong ownership, autonomy, judgment, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with cryptocurrency transaction data and its impact on financial records and reconciliations.
• Experience processing large volumes of financial transactions with distributed frameworks such as Spark or PySpark.
