Staff Data Engineer, Analytics Engineering

Location: Hybrid position based in Buenos Aires, Argentina

What you will do

• Own and improve the normalized data layer for consistency, scalability, and performance.
• Build automated tests and monitoring to identify data issues before production.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and scientists on data pipeline and model design, testing, and quality checks.
• Optimize warehouse performance, query efficiency, and data costs for large datasets.
• Explore AI-assisted model design, code suggestions, change reviews, and anomaly detection.
• Maintain clear documentation and data engineering standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing and maintaining business data warehouses containing structured and unstructured data.
• Experience building and orchestrating data pipelines with ETL and data preparation tools.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, plus experience with dbt.
• Experience with data observability, automated testing, and monitoring frameworks.
• Experience tuning Snowflake performance and managing large datasets.
• Fluent English in written and spoken communication. Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Hex, Mode, or Tableau and with semantic layers.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, OpenAI API, or LangChain for engineering workflows.
• Additional experience with Snowflake or Databricks.
