Identity and Access Management Engineer (Microsoft Entra ID)

Location: Hybrid role based in Aberdeen, Glasgow, London, Edinburgh, or Staines-upon-Thames, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Lead the hands-on technical delivery of an identity transformation programme and take end-to-end ownership of identity changes.
• Consolidate two identity environments into a single Microsoft Entra ID tenant and safely retire the legacy environment.
• Migrate users, groups, applications, SSO integrations, guest accounts, devices, and dependent services.
• Configure and harden Entra ID using Conditional Access, MFA, passwordless authentication, application integrations, Entra Connect, Cloud Sync, and hybrid Active Directory.
• Automate joiner, mover, and leaver processes with HR systems and ServiceNow, and implement access reviews and RBAC.
• Implement privileged access controls, prepare technical documentation, and transfer knowledge to the internal identity team and managed service provider.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in identity and access management, preferably with Microsoft Entra ID.
• Experience delivering identity consolidation or tenant-to-tenant migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, application registrations, enterprise applications, B2B, Entra Connect, Cloud Sync, and hybrid Active Directory.
• Experience automating joiner, mover, and leaver processes with HR and ITSM systems and implementing RBAC.
• Working knowledge of SAML, OIDC, OAuth, SCIM, PowerShell, and Microsoft Graph scripting.
• Strong technical documentation skills and experience working with managed service providers.

Nice to have

• Experience with SailPoint or One Identity Manager.
• Microsoft SC-300 certification and awareness of Zero Trust principles.
• Experience with SAP access and emergency access controls.
• Experience in regulated, critical-infrastructure, or energy-sector environments.
