Senior Routing Specialist (Networking)

Location: Remote/Teleworker, supporting the Chicago, Illinois, United States office

Salary: USD 175,000–411,500 annual salary and target-level sales compensation

What you will do

• Serve as a technical expert for routing and network infrastructure solutions.
• Design and validate WAN, enterprise edge, optical transport, and data center interconnect architectures.
• Lead customer briefings, workshops, proof-of-concepts, technical demonstrations, and strategic design discussions.
• Develop reference architectures, solution designs, deployment guidance, and networking best practices.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Professional Services, and partners on customer solutions.
• Support large-scale opportunities from discovery through technical validation and deployment planning.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in networking architecture, systems engineering, consulting, or related technical roles.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper MX, PTX, and ACX platforms and strong expertise in WAN routing and network infrastructure.
• Expert knowledge of BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, RSVP-TE, Segment Routing, L2VPN, L3VPN, and EVPN.
• Experience with optical transport, data center interconnect, access networking, and resilient high-availability architectures.
• Experience with network automation and operational tooling, including Python, REST APIs, NETCONF/YANG, Ansible, Git, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Ability to work remotely while supporting the Chicago, Illinois office and engaging directly with customers and partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with EVPN/VXLAN data center fabrics, cloud connectivity, network telemetry, observability, and network assurance.
• Familiarity with AI infrastructure networking, high-performance data center architectures, security integration, segmentation, and policy-based networking.
• Relevant certifications such as JNCIP-SP, JNCIE-SP, JNCIP-ENT, CCNP/CCIE, MEF Carrier Ethernet, or network automation and cloud networking certifications.
