Model Validation Senior Manager (Gen AI)

Location: London or Cardiff offices, or remote within the UK; occasional meetings in London may be required.

Salary: £85,000–£105,000 annually, plus performance-based incentive awards.

What you will do

• Lead the embedding of the Model Risk Framework for Generative AI models and use cases across the business.
• Define and maintain Generative AI validation methods, evidence requirements, reusable technical assets, playbooks, and tests.
• Perform and oversee independent validation of operational models, primarily Generative AI models, systems, and use cases.
• Review model performance monitoring, risk thresholds, residual model risk, and mitigation action plans.
• Build relationships with first-line modelling teams and wider risk functions.
• Contribute to the Model Risk Oversight Committee and promote effective model risk management practices.

Requirements

• Strong Data Science or Machine Learning background with robust Python skills.
• Experience designing Generative AI evaluation frameworks, architectures, methods, tooling, and platform alignment.
• Knowledge of Gemini implementations and change assessment.
• Experience managing modelling projects through their full lifecycle.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to challenge constructively while building respectful relationships.
• Interest in coaching, standard setting, banking model risk management, and regulatory contexts.
