VP of Robotics System Engineering, Humanoid Team (Robotics)

hirify.global develops general-purpose humanoid robots, initially focused on dual-arm mobile manipulators and expanding to humanoid platforms.

What you will do

• Lead the robotics systems engineering organization and own the full-stack software platform for humanoid robots.
• Define scalable, safety-certified system architecture from low-level motor control and sensor I/O to cloud-connected autonomy services.
• Design motor-drive firmware, deterministic communications, ROS 2 control stacks, safety observers, and mission state machines.
• Integrate teleoperation, autonomous, and vision-language-action modes with MoveIt 2, whole-body control, localization, user interfaces, ML inference, and fleet-management backends.
• Drive hardware-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, and field acceptance testing for reliability, safety, and performance at scale.
• Manage product roadmaps, budgets, suppliers, stakeholders, and the engineering lifecycle from advanced prototype through volume production.

Requirements

• Experience leading robotics systems engineering and contributing hands-on to complex robotic platforms.
• Knowledge of motor-drive firmware, BLDC field-oriented control, PID tuning, high-rate sensor I/O, and embedded communications including CAN-FD, RS-485, RS-422, and I2C.
• Experience with ROS 2, ros2_control, safety monitoring, mission state machines, teleoperation, and autonomous robotic systems.
• Experience with MoveIt 2, whole-body controllers, localization, ML inference integration, and cloud or fleet-management services.
• Experience with HIL/SIL testbeds, system integration, and validation of safety-critical or production-scale systems.
• Ownership mentality and a user-centric approach that balances technical quality with customer value and operational practicality.
