Payroll Manager

Location: Full-time, based in the Bermondsey office, London, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Own end-to-end payroll delivery for UK, French, Italian, Danish, and US entities, including starters, leavers, variable pay, statutory payments, and pension contributions.
• Coordinate local payroll providers and the US PEO to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Maintain compliance with local payroll, tax, and employment legislation and coordinate statutory year-end returns.
• Design and maintain payroll controls across each entity.
• Reconcile payroll with the general ledger and support month-end close, reporting, and forecasting of payroll expenditure.
• Handle payroll queries from employees, regional finance teams, and the People team.

Requirements

• Proven payroll management experience, ideally covering multiple countries.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NIC, statutory payments, and pensions auto-enrolment.
• High attention to detail, a strong compliance mindset, and a personable approach to resolving payroll queries.
• Strong problem-solving skills and high proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to work from the Bermondsey office in London.

Nice to have

• Experience with Sage Payroll and Sage HR.
• CIPP qualification or equivalent.
• Additional language skills.
