2027 Material & Process Engineering, Summer Intern

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite five days a week. Relocation is available.

Salary: $26.00–$43.00 per hour

What you will do

• Conduct materials research and analysis for new gas turbine components.
• Perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support design changes focused on materials and manufacturing processes.
• Assist with engine assembly, production testing, and manufacturing support.
• Develop and use materials engineering design tools.
• Perform FEA simulations and support engine or component testing.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Weld Engineering, or Ceramic Engineering.
• Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior planning to attend graduate school, or current graduate student.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Must be able to work onsite in San Diego five days per week.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring or likely to require employer-specific sponsorship are not eligible.

• Previous co-op or internship experience.
• Problem-solving skills and strong verbal and written communication.
