Head of Legal (AI/Fintech)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden. Hybrid working model with mainly office-based work in Stockholm; occasional travel to teams and offices in Greece, the UK and other locations may be required.

What you will do

• Own the legal function and provide pragmatic advice to the CEO, Board, Executive Crew and business teams.
• Build scalable legal systems, automation and AI-supported tools for contracts, regulatory change, governance and legal operations.
• Manage corporate governance, board documentation, group and subsidiary matters, related-party transactions and conflicts of interest.
• Advise on financial regulation, commercial agreements, data protection, outsourcing, products and strategic initiatives.
• Act as SUB, overseeing AML/CTF controls, risk assessments, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and reporting to the Board and Finansinspektionen.
• Own legal questions related to AI, including personal data, the EU AI Act, automated decision-making, transparency, confidentiality and vendor risk.

Requirements

• Swedish law degree (juristexamen) or equivalent legal qualification.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in-house or in a law firm, preferably in banking, financial services or another regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law, financial services regulation and AML/CTF legislation.
• Experience with corporate governance, legal documentation, senior-management and Board advisory work.
• Hands-on experience using AI in legal work, including building an AI-enabled tool used by others.
• Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English.

Nice to have

• Experience in a bank or credit institution regulated by Finansinspektionen, or experience as a SUB.
• Experience with regulatory applications, authorisation processes and supervisory authorities.
• Knowledge of UK regulation, consumer credit, data protection, technology, outsourcing, AI governance or the EU AI Act.
• Experience with legal operations, contract lifecycle management, automation or internal tooling.
• Experience working across jurisdictions or building an in-house legal function.
