Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Vancouver, Canada. Office-centric hybrid schedule with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; most employees may work from home on Wednesdays, while Friday remote work depends on the role and team.

Base salary: CAD 176,000–200,000 per year, plus potential equity, sales incentives where applicable, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define data frameworks and methodologies for understanding users of agentic work management products and identifying engagement levers.
• Act as the data lead for specific AI features in partnership with Product Managers and Engineers.
• Analyze data and communicate insights through data storytelling to identify product opportunities.
• Design experiments, measure product progress, and own key performance metrics.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to research and share best practices across teams.
• Help explore AI optimization and the use of LLMs to strengthen Asana’s value proposition.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of data science experience, primarily in growth-focused roles at B2B SaaS companies.
• Experience with AI/ML products, LLM APIs, or third-party platform integrations; conversational AI experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical foundation in experimentation, A/B testing, and pipeline management.
• Expertise in relational data modeling and SQL, plus fluency in a modern data-processing language such as R, Python, or Scala.
• Knowledge of experimental design, regression, and causal inference.
• Ability to lead cross-functional work, communicate clearly, and operate independently in ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

• Experience building features integrating ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar conversational AI platforms.
