Product Designer (React/TypeScript)

Location: Remote within the United States, including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C.

Salary: $158,000–$216,500 for premium US locations including New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle; $142,200–$194,850 for all other US locations. Equity is offered.

ClickHouse develops a high-performance open source database and is expanding its product and design systems.

What you will do

• Own the Click UI design system in Figma and define how components look and feel across the ClickHouse ecosystem.
• Work with contributors and consumers to improve the system and increase adoption of new and existing components.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual mockups, iterating based on feedback.
• Partner closely with product managers and engineers as an embedded product collaborator.
• Use AI tools to accelerate workflows, automate repetitive work, and improve code and design quality.
• Participate in design feedback sessions and advocate for product quality and user experience.

Requirements

• Strong visual design fundamentals and experience building and maintaining design systems.
• Experience designing complex software applications, ideally B2B SaaS or developer tools.
• Advanced Figma proficiency, including components, prototyping, and design systems.
• Frontend engineering skills with CSS, React, and TypeScript, plus comfort working in a real codebase.
• Experience owning products end to end and collaborating directly with developers and product managers.
• Active use of AI tools in design, engineering, or workflows, with readiness for ambiguity and shifting priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-brand design systems or one design system across multiple technology stacks.
• Experience designing IDEs, data products, or developer tooling.
• Familiarity with Cursor, Copilot, Figma MCP, v0, open source contributions, or an active GitHub presence.
• Experience in a fast-moving, globally distributed startup.
