Software Engineer Lead - Data Conversion Discipline (Oracle PL/SQL)

Location: Nicosia, Cyprus; hybrid model with part of the work from home and part from the office

Salary: EUR 40,000–55,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, tune, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL solutions for data migration and conversion projects.
• Define standardization approaches and methodologies used across critical conversion projects.
• Design and deliver large-scale solutions with international engineering colleagues and lead project workstreams.
• Resolve client data and software issues and support the full data migration and conversion lifecycle.
• Maintain documentation covering migration approaches, standards, and delivery practices.
• Work within an Agile framework, follow coding standards, and explore Agentic and Autonomous AI concepts.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant database development experience.
• Degree-level education in an IT-related subject such as Computer Science or MIS.
• Professional experience with Oracle Database Development, PL/SQL, and Oracle performance tuning.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, REST APIs, SDLC, and medium-to-large complex projects.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of shell, Python, or Perl scripting and flexibility to travel to client premises.

Nice to have

• Experience with ETL, data conversion, or data migration activities.
• Payment-industry experience and knowledge of UNIX/Linux.
• Experience with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Kafka, or Java Spring Boot/Spring Batch.
• AI skills and capabilities.
