Enterprise Software Architect (Fintech)

Location: Larnaca, Cyprus; hybrid work model with 2 days working from home. Applicants must be eligible or have legal authorization to work in Cyprus.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end backend architecture, including service boundaries, data ownership, and service communication.
• Define reference structures, conventions, and API standards for new backend services using REST and gRPC.
• Design messaging and event architecture with reliable delivery, ordering, and idempotency.
• Set security, observability, resilience, and backend engineering standards.
• Write production code, build shared libraries and proofs of concept, and modernize legacy services.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders while mentoring engineers across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience, including several years architecting distributed services used by multiple teams.
• Fluent English is required; resumes must be submitted in English.
• Expert Python and asynchronous programming skills, with production experience using frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven design, REST, gRPC, SQL and NoSQL databases, Kafka, Redis, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Experience designing high-throughput financial systems such as ledgers, payments, or balance-processing services.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Next.js.
• Additional language skills.
