Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States — onsite at 2501 W. Bradley Place (WGN-TV)

Salary: $27.87–$46.68 per hour, commensurate with experience and skill level.

What you will do

• Write and edit stories for television newscasts, streaming platforms, digital properties, and social media.
• Edit video and prepare content for broadcast and digital distribution.
• Build and maintain rundowns, support daily show production, and line produce newscasts or special coverage when assigned.
• Coordinate live shots and collaborate with reporters, photographers, editors, and producers.
• Order and manage graphics, lower thirds, full screens, and other visual production elements.
• Monitor breaking news, contribute story ideas, and assist with sports coverage, highlights, and major-event programming.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as a television news writer, producer, line producer, or content producer.
• Strong writing, editing, news judgment, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience producing content under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Ability to multitask across broadcast, digital, streaming, and social platforms.
• Working knowledge of video editing and newsroom production workflows, with knowledge of local, national, and sports news.
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience; IBEW union membership is required.
