Principal FPGA Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own and develop an FPGA prototyping testbed using development boards, laboratory test equipment, and a Linux-based simulation and verification environment.
• Architect advanced FPGA systems, RTL designs, interface solutions, and digital hardware concepts for complex aerospace products.
• Lead FPGA integration, hardware bring-up, verification, debugging, qualification, and design validation.
• Perform power, thermal, device utilization, timing, hardware performance, and compute-performance analysis.
• Lead large-scale prototype implementations using regression-gated Linux-based CI/CD automation.
• Advise technical leadership, customers, and multidisciplinary teams while mentoring senior FPGA engineers.

Requirements

• Must be eligible under United States Government Space Technology Export Regulations as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or person eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and implementing FPGA systems at the HDL level.
• Expert knowledge of FPGA design, HDL/HLS entry, verification, synthesis, place-and-route, AMD Versal toolchains, Vivado, Vitis, AIE, and HLS.
• Strong DSP fundamentals, including NCO, FIR, and FFT, plus UVM-based verification experience.
• Expertise in Linux-based CI/CD infrastructure and FPGA optimization for utilization, power, thermal, and compute performance.
