Sr Director, Global Security Programs

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid with in-person work at an assigned office at least two days per week. Travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Salary: $166,800–$250,000 annually, with potential eligibility for bonuses and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise-wide global security programs covering travel risk, emergency preparedness, physical security, facility safety, event risk, personnel security, crisis management, and security awareness.
• Build and operate the Global Security Operations Center, including operating procedures, escalation protocols, service standards, monitoring, intelligence, and response.
• Oversee access control, CCTV, visitor management, intrusion detection, and building life-safety systems.
• Develop security policies, standards, controls, and reporting aligned with ISO 27001 physical security requirements and applicable regulations.
• Direct incident and emergency response, investigations, executive protection, threat management, event security planning, and senior-leadership reporting.
• Manage security teams, guard forces, vendors, procurements exceeding $1 million, capital budgets, operating budgets, and cross-functional risk initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 20 years of progressive corporate security experience, including senior leadership of enterprise-wide global security programs in a complex multinational organization.
• Expertise in crisis management, executive protection, investigations, guard force management, physical and event security, threat management, and global intelligence.
• Experience leading teams and managing capital and operating budgets, global vendors, and complex service procurements.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise access control, CCTV, visitor management, intrusion detection, and building life-safety systems.
• Recent experience building, operating, and leading a GSOC and applying ISO 27001 physical security requirements to policies, controls, and operating practices.
• Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Nice to have

• ASIS CPP, PCI, CFE, business continuity certification, or comparable advanced security training.
• Master’s degree in security, strategy, national security, international affairs, or a related field.
