Software Systems Engineer (VB.NET)

Location: Bridgend, South Wales, United Kingdom; office-based five days per week. International travel may be required to support customer-site installations worldwide.

Salary: £45,000–£65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Analyse software requirements and collaborate with product development and production teams.
• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance software and control systems for existing and future projects.
• Prepare test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Investigate and resolve issues across design, coding, testing, and acceptance.
• Support system installations at customer sites worldwide and provide technical training to internal personnel.
• Support the Software Systems Manager with core systems and legacy software.

Requirements

• At least five years of software development experience.
• Strong experience with VB.NET in an engineering environment.
• HND or degree-level qualification, preferably in Computer Science or Mathematics.
• Experience or interest in machine or motion control software and hardware interaction.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in the Bridgend office five days per week and travel internationally when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with laser control or PLCs.
