Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Systems Team (Quantum Computing)

Location: Cambridge, UK; hybrid

Salary: £80,000–£100,000 per year, depending on experience

hirify.global develops quantum error correction technology and hardware to help make fault-tolerant quantum computing possible.

What you will do

• Act as the primary technical interface for customer engineers and guide product integration.
• Host technical workshops on hirify.global’s quantum error correction stack and DeltaKit, and evaluate customer software and data communication systems.
• Deploy and integrate the software stack with customer quantum computer systems and work with the Quantum Application Team to design experiments.
• Benchmark system performance, identify limitations, and write scripts to troubleshoot complete systems.
• Replicate customer issues with the QA team, update test environments, and document experiments.
• Communicate customer feedback, product trends, and required features to the product team while creating dashboards for quantum system visibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Strong experience with at least one embedded software language, such as C, C++, or Python.
• Proven experience in SoC design, embedded systems design, or computer architecture.
• Proficiency with a scripting language, preferably Python, and working knowledge of Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
• Understanding of hardware–software integration and standard development practices, including source control, continuous integration, unit testing, and debugging.
• Strong communication skills, independent and collaborative working ability, and experience mentoring junior embedded software engineers.

• Technical pre-sales, post-sales, professional services, or field application engineering experience.
