Software Engineer (Platform Integration)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid working model. The role includes hands-on work in vehicle workshops and labs, as well as work at international test locations.

What you will do

• Support software bring-up on benches, hardware-in-the-loop systems, and vehicles.
• Develop and maintain vehicle-facing software components, shared frameworks, diagnostics, tooling, and reliability metrics.
• Diagnose software and hardware integration issues using logs, telemetry, on-target tests, and systematic experimentation.
• Identify architectural improvements that reduce bespoke integration work and increase reuse across vehicle programs.
• Document systems and create runbooks for long-term supportability.
• Collaborate with hardware, safety, controls, calibration, and reliability teams.

Requirements

• Strong software-development experience with C++, Python, or Rust.
• Production software experience on Linux-based robotic, embedded, or automotive platforms.
• Understanding of ROS2 or similar robotics middleware and distributed-system integration.
• Hands-on experience integrating software with vehicle or embedded hardware.
• Knowledge of vehicle sensors, networking, platform bring-up, and complex system debugging.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model in London and undertake hands-on work in vehicles, workshops, labs, and international test locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with drive-by-wire systems, CAN tools, shared frameworks, hardware-in-the-loop or simulation, functional safety, technical documentation, or observability.

Hiring process

• 25-minute recruiter screen.
• Programming and technical-domain competency interviews lasting approximately two hours.
• Two-hour deep-dive technical interviews covering programming and team fit, followed by a 30-minute final mission and values interview.
