Lead Data Center Technician (AI)

Location: Southaven, Mississippi or Memphis, Tennessee, United States; onsite data center work required

What you will do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain server, storage, compute, and network infrastructure across data centers and global points of presence.
• Install and commission racks, servers, switches, network equipment, power cabling, and fiber or optical cabling.
• Manage hardware intake, staging, provisioning handoff, decommissioning, vendor returns, spare parts, and warehouse inventory.
• Respond to and resolve cross-functional data center operations tickets through Jira.
• Create task documentation and standard operating procedures while improving server intake and repair processes.
• Define and implement network layouts and solutions within data centers and report to job sites during initial construction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience with server, storage, compute, and network hardware, including troubleshooting and repair.
• At least 5 years of experience managing inventory and ordering, receiving, and shipping server and network equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, work in tight quarters, work at heights up to 50 feet with safety gear, and tolerate noisy environments.
• Availability for evenings and weekends, with flexibility based on site operational needs; emergency onsite response may be required.
• Pre-employment drug testing, random drug and alcohol testing, and pre-employment and annual post-employment background checks are required.

Nice to have

• Strong Linux skills, including shell navigation, file manipulation, permissions, package management, filesystems, process management, troubleshooting, debugging, and Bash scripting.
• On-call experience and the ability to respond to critical events.
• Experience leading data center infrastructure projects.
• Oracle experience, inventory management experience, and 4+ years of structured copper or fiber cabling experience.
• 4+ years of experience with data center power and cooling concepts.
