Linux Data Center Operations Technician (AI)

Location: Southaven, Mississippi, or Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Onsite data center work is required, including emergency response, construction-site reporting, elevated work, and evening or weekend availability.

What you will do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair Linux servers, storage systems, compute equipment, and network infrastructure.
• Install and stage racks, servers, switches, cabling, power systems, and fiber or optical connections.
• Manage hardware receipt, decommissioning, vendor returns, spare parts, warehouse inventory, and asset records.
• Respond to cross-functional data center operations tickets through Jira.
• Create and maintain task documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Define, design, and implement network layouts and solutions within data centers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• At least 2 years of experience with server, storage, compute, and network hardware.
• At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure.
• At least 2 years of experience managing inventory and ordering, receiving, and shipping server and network equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, work in tight quarters and noisy environments, and work at heights up to 50 feet with appropriate safety gear.
• Availability for varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and emergency onsite response; pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing and background checks are required.

Nice to have

• Strong Linux skills, including shell file manipulation, permissions, package management, filesystems, process management, troubleshooting, debugging, and Bash scripting.
• On-call experience and experience responding to critical events.
• Data center infrastructure project leadership experience.
• Four or more years of structured copper or fiber cabling experience.
• Four or more years of data center power and cooling experience, plus Oracle experience.
