Research Associate (Generative AI and Biology)

What you will do

• Maintain mammalian cell cultures, including thawing, passaging, expansion, cryopreservation, and cell-health monitoring.
• Execute 96- and 384-well high-throughput screening workflows and plate-based assays with appropriate controls and sample tracking.
• Support assay development, optimization, reproducibility testing, and experimental troubleshooting with lead scientists.
• Operate liquid handlers, plate readers, and other laboratory automation equipment.
• Document experiments in Benchling or a similar electronic laboratory notebook and summarize results.
• Prepare reagents, manage supplies, and maintain shared laboratory equipment and workspaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field with approximately 1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience, or a master’s degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell lines, aseptic technique, cell viability, and culture quality assessment.
• Experience with high-throughput or multiwell plate assays, multichannel pipetting, plate layouts, controls, and automated liquid handling.
• Experience with cell-based assays and at least one complementary technique such as flow cytometry, ELISA, fluorescence or luminescence assays, or molecular cloning.
• Familiarity with Benchling or another sample-tracking system and with Excel, GraphPad Prism, or similar data tools.
• Familiarity with Python or willingness to learn it, alongside strong organization, communication, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience with mammalian cell transfection.
• Academic research or substantive internship experience.
