Senior/Staff Research Associate (Microbiology)

What you will do

• Independently operate DASGIP bioreactor systems for anaerobic probiotic strain fermentation, including sterile setup, inoculation, and process monitoring.
• Design and manage experiments for anaerobic fermentation.
• Run and analyze flow cytometry assays for strain quality control and process development across multiple projects.
• Develop expertise in flow cytometry and execute aseptic and anaerobic microbiology workflows.
• Organize assay workflows, draft protocols, document laboratory activities, and support daily lab operations.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on experimental design, execution, data analysis, and scientific literature review.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of post-graduation experience or a master’s degree.
• Expertise in microbiology aseptic techniques, anaerobic bacterial growth, and independent operation of fermentation bioreactors such as DASGIP.
• Expertise in flow cytometry for live/dead bacterial cell classification.
• Experience developing and writing SOPs, tracking lot numbers, and using laboratory management systems.
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a fast-paced, multifunctional team.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and oral and written communication skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google applications, basic data analysis, and AI tools.

Nice to have

• Experience handling human and animal samples, including stool, skin, and blood.
• Experience with shelf-life and stability testing of live biotherapeutic or probiotic products.
• Familiarity with real-time and accelerated stability study design and execution.
