Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Tomares, Spain

Salary: €42,000–€55,000 annually, plus performance bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Analyze, develop, implement, test, and document enterprise software engineering projects.
• Design and implement reusable, extensible, and stable software components based on established architecture blueprints.
• Develop and integrate new systems, applications, enhancements, and supporting infrastructure across the full software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews focused on quality, readability, performance, security, standards, and best practices.
• Create and maintain CI/CD jobs and pipelines, troubleshoot build and deployment issues, and follow production processes.
• Provide technical guidance, support junior and team members, and identify root causes of complex development and production problems.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience building web-based and server-based applications with Java, Spring, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, and search frameworks such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Solr.
• Experience with RESTful or GraphQL services, Git, Docker or Podman, CI/CD, TDD, unit testing, mocking frameworks, and integration testing.
• Understanding of distributed applications, asynchronous programming, queuing, caching, logging, transactions, security, and performance.
• Agile/SAFe programming expertise, strong business analysis and technical skills, and the ability to guide and train junior and team staff.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
