Software Tester Intern (QA Automation)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model

Salary: CAD $25 per hour; internship term runs from January to April 2027

What you will do

• Execute test cases and validate application functionality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify, document, and track software defects.
• Assist with test planning, test case creation, and test data preparation.
• Support automation testing for the e-Transfer team.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with developers, product owners, QA peers, and business stakeholders.
• Learn and apply industry-standard testing tools, methodologies, and quality assurance practices.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Basic understanding of software development and software testing concepts.
• Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and processes quickly.
• Good communication and teamwork skills in a collaborative Agile environment.
• Eagerness to develop technical skills and build a career in Quality Engineering.

Nice to have

• Exposure to software testing through academic, internship, or personal projects.
• Familiarity with Jira, Postman, Ready API, or similar testing and collaboration tools.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
