Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Ontario, Canada

Salary: $124,600.00–$163,600.00 annually; commission or performance-based bonus opportunities may also be available.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end quality strategy for batch analytics features, data pipelines, and APIs.
• Align Product, Engineering, and UX around quality in design and delivery workflows.
• Design and implement automated test frameworks to improve reliability, reduce defects, and increase deployment confidence.
• Evaluate architectures and technical designs for testability, scalability, performance, and risk.
• Execute functional, performance, security, accessibility, exploratory, and user-focused testing.
• Maintain and improve automated test suites in Jenkins and TestNG, and mentor junior engineers through reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software testing experience in cloud-based or distributed systems environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java or Python and experience contributing to test automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or equivalent platforms.
• Experience testing REST APIs using functional and automated approaches.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and end-to-end validation in multi-tenant applications.
• Experience with large-scale data systems or high-volume event-driven platforms.
• Strong analytical skills for identifying risks and designing effective validation strategies.
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and influence engineering practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda.
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, or Presto.
• Experience testing data pipelines and batch processing systems.
• Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Background in performance, scalability, or security testing.
• Experience contributing to shared testing frameworks used across multiple teams.
