Associate, Software Engineer

Location: Mason, Ohio, United States; onsite role. Work schedule follows a 9/80 arrangement, with every other Friday off.

What you will do

• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical concepts to develop software for target applications.
• Develop and evaluate hardware-software interfaces, system designs, and operational performance requirements with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle for embedded software controlling advanced tactical radio equipment.
• Create software programs, test procedures, and technical documentation.
• Use modeling tools to establish operating data, conduct experiments, and evaluate results.
• Participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and repair software defects.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or have completed one within the last 12 months in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, wireless engineering, information security, mathematics, digital arts and sciences, or a related field.
• Knowledge of software development and testing principles.
• Ability to work with embedded software, real-time control systems, and hardware-software interfaces.
• Experience or academic exposure to software languages and platforms such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, or Qt.
• Many positions may require a security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux, Unix, Windows, .NET, RTOS, real-time controls, wireless systems, software security, robotics, embedded systems, Android, SOA, Hadoop, or OOA/OOD.
• Familiarity with operating systems and platforms including VxWorks, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, or mobile platforms.
